Of all your life experiences, good or bad, what would your advice be on anything?

Bad - I used to smoke when i was in cuba, but that was years ago. I get the craving to smoke when i’m really mad, or when im driving just listening to music & just wanna get rid of stress but i don’t cause i have a little sister that looks up to me. My mom smokes & i see the way my sister gets upset when she smokes so i don’t want her to look at me like that. I learned you can’t just think of yourself when you want something, you have to think how what you want or do, can affect the people around you. (oh & i ment smoking Cigs, not pot or anything.)

Good - I guess coming out, and being more open with my mom. I used to give her the biggest attitude & be a bitch, but i’ve grown up so much i appreciate what she does for me. when parents say “im doing this for your own good” or “you’ll thank me one day” they really mean it, you might now see it now but you will later on in life. But i feel like i can tell my mom anything because of that, always trust your parents. Talk to them, even if its hard. You’re their kid, they need to understand you.

Who’s your favorite hero!? lol.

Like on the tv show Heroes? I love hiro, but i gotta stick with Claire. In real life, my mom is my biggest hero. Also Ellen DeGeneres, i know people look at her as a “Talk show host” but shes more to me than just a funny person. If you read her life story & saw her original tv show & all the stuff she went through, you can see why shes my hero.

what are you going to major in?

Im going to school for photography, so somewere along that road. I would like to go to school to be a therapist but i might do that later on in life.

Thank you! You have no idea how long i’ve wanted to tell my parents, it feels good to let it out. No matter how you told them, you should always remember that was your day. You told your parents and thats all that matters.

do you ever wish you were straight?

I think life would be easy if i were, but i love my life as it is right now. I dont look at someone as being gay, straight, black or white. I just think there a person trying to live thier own life. Sounds cliche’ but its true.

I’m 17, i’ll be 18 in april.

so after you came out, your mom was okay with it? i’m still having trouble with myself. i’m still confused actually, i’m pretty sure i’m bisexual. i’m scared to say anything at all to my parents though. then again, i’m still young.

She was always okay with gay people. Her best friend throughout high school was gay & she knew how everyone treated him cause he was. It was awkward, she would always tell me “you can tell me anything, i will always love you.” we have a best friend relashionship. I can tell her anything. It was super awkward though, i took her by suprise. But over the time, shes been fine with it. Shes always asking me if girls are cute, and who i like. I guess she can tell im happy. If you’re young, & you don’t know if your gay, bisexual don’t make any fast judgment. This takes time, you’re young & you need to just play around with things. If you’re going to tell your parents, make sure you know what they do think about being gay. If they’re cool with it, i know kids that come out & there parents shun them out. I don’t wanna see a teen out on the streat cause of there parents, so if you want take time. but if you know, don’t hide. Just be carefull okay?

For guys to have kids, it does seem harder. Even to adopt. :’( Im really really sorry. I hate how its so hard for gay people to have kids, its like they don’t want us to have a family. How did you come out to your parents?

I was going to a concert (Demi lovato // aug 2.) and i guess coming from a latin family you’re suposed to dress all girly & just a bunch of other stuff. I don’t dress like a “girl girl” I wear jeans, band shirts, you know what teens wear. My mom got mad that i wasnt dressing like a proper “woman” and she screamed in my face “What are you gay or something?” and i said “YES I AM” and thats how i came out. It was awkward, but i think my mom knew her entire life. I knew i never liked guys, i mean its just something you know. Its like asking a straight girl, why are you straight? Cause she just is. But thats why demi’s concert also means alot to me, thats the day i felt more myself than i ever have before.

What you wanna do when you grow up? :D

I’m studying photography, i have been for 3 years now & i love it. I really wanna be a photographer, everyone wants to be one these days haha.
